Welcome to the New Thorpe Park!

One of the UK’s most popular attractions, Thorpe Park reopened its doors to the public on the 24th of March 2024, after undergoing an extensive rebranding. Home to the famous Nemesis Inferno and The Swarm rides, Thorpe Park closed for the winter in December 2023, to begin the aptly named Project Sparkle. This endeavour was started to rebrand the entire park, give it a fresh new look, and continue construction on the park’s newest attraction, Hyperia. Which will become the UK’s tallest rollercoaster. Besides a change in the logo, uniform, new toilets, audio, shops and colours, many other changes are coming as Thorpe Park reopens its doors for the 2024 season.

One of the biggest changes the park is receiving in 2024 is the new Big Easy Boulevard. The thematic area of Thorpe Park used to be known as Angry Birds Land and is now being refurbished to resemble the easy-going lifestyle of New Orleans. Big Easy Boulevard is set to include a newly revamped Sunset Cinema, which will be screening the new Ready Player One 4D experience, a new bumper car experience called Big Easy Bumpers, a sweet shop and new grab-and-go food outlets.

The popular Thorpe Park rides Colossus and Stealth will also get refurbishments. Colossus is undergoing a repaint, with new aesthetics and new controls, although these are still being tested and won’t be open to the public for a few more weeks at least. However, Stealth is receiving a repaint, as well as a new launch bunker and, more importantly, a corrected acceleration board. Stealth is the world’s fastest accelerating rollercoaster, which can go from 0-80 mph in 1.8 seconds!

The final change that Thorpe Park is undergoing in 2024 is the grand opening of what will be the UK’s fastest and tallest rollercoaster, Hyperia. Standing at an enormous height of 236 feet and hitting top speeds of up to 80 mph, Hyperia is the only rollercoaster in Thorpe Park to have three inversions and is already one of the most anticipated attractions of the park this year. It is unfortunately not open to the public just yet but is expected to be during the summer months, during which the public will be able to experience what it feels like to touch the sky and fall to earth again.

Thorpe Park is now open to the public, with tickets starting from just £29 per person, or £20 for students with ID’s. Tickets are available here.
