Disney in Songs

My childhood fantasy was to become a Disney princess with gowns, glitter, fairies, and other magical things. I adored seeing them dance in the forest while the birds sang around them, all dressed up in gorgeous dresses and hair. I always felt like a princess and enjoyed every second of viewing these comforting films. My favourite film is "The Beauty and the Beast”. Belle, who is like me, in the movie, enjoys reading and spending time with her family, but is also brave and accepts love from anyone, regardless of appearance.

These films have always brought me joy and occasionally allowed me to breathe. Music has become a beloved childhood memory as I've grown older, so I've provided my take on a "Disney" playlist.

The first track is Ariana Grande's "Intro (end of the world)" from her most recent album, Eternal Sunshine. It's incredibly calming and makes me want to watch Beauty and the Beast while sitting outside in the rain. I feel so at ease and reassured again after listening to this introduction. “If the sun refused to shine, would you still be my lover?” doesn't make you think of the Beast first treating Belle well, even though she didn't like it initially. Perhaps the sun represented Belle, and the moon represented The Beast; they are unique but shine together.

"Can I Call You Rose?" by The Sacred Souls is a song that evokes lounging on the sofa with Rapunzel playing in the background. This song makes you want to party with her and Flynn on their lakeside boat. This song is relaxing and makes me feel like a princess when I sing it aloud with someone I love. As Rapunzel has Flynn, you may also have someone or might just enjoy it by yourself. Imagine a gorgeous lake with flower petals flowing with the water and enjoy this relaxing experience.

The third song that made me feel like a hopeless romantic again was Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor. This song makes me want to cook like The Princess and the Frog because she moves so gracefully while preparing those excellent pastries and the love she puts into her cooking, maybe because cooking is my love language, too. That movie was both comfortable and enjoyable to watch. It made me fall in love with how beautiful her green outfit was. I adore the film because it reminds me of Beauty and the Beast, and the narrative of 'The Frog Prince' helps youngsters realise that everyone, no matter how they appear, must be treated with kindness. ‘Marvin Gaye’s “Baby You Got the Healing that I Want’, expresses love in the air and maybe your significant other can help you get through your healing process and embrace it.

Let's go to Hawaii for a few seconds with the movie "Moana," which reminds me of Burna Boy's song "Alone." Moana a daring woman embarks on a mission to save her people. She gave up her life for her people, immediately drawing me into the film. This song has always held particular importance for me, and it always plays in my thoughts when Moana meets Maui and receives guidance from him. Together, they endure several hardships, and in the end, Moana protects her people while also discovering herself. "Just another fight for my life" reminds me of her fights and sacrifices. Burna Boy's songs highlight his struggles with tackling mental challenges alone.

is what Moana reflects on me.

The final song on my Disney Playlist is Pink Sweat$' Waiting on You, which features Sabrina Claudio. This song would make a perfect Cinderella song. The film portrays the prince waiting for Cinderella after seeing her for the first time and wanting to meet her again. The film shows patience for me. How patient they were with their love tale, despite Cinderella's family, she found her love "Waiting on you." I could picture them dancing to this song in that ballroom and allowing the magic to unfold before everything went away. Even yet, they eventually reunite.

With lots of magic and glitter, Atar.
