“We’re running in the moonlight”, Chase Atlantic, Paradise.
Chase Atlantic is an Australian band that has been producing songs since 2015 and made their biggest debut album, Nostalgia. This band has been one of my biggest inspirations and the safest place whenever I listen to them. Their songs let me dive into a personal experience, and relating to them made them stand out. I discovered Chase Atlantic with their famous song "Into It." I found this song when I was still in high school, and that was the one that made them my favorite music band till now, and that's why I decided to share it with you. I remembered how many times I streamed that song, and it never failed to make my emotions go through so many places, from sadness to confidence to feeling lost. That music expresses how we adapt and evolve, yet occasionally, the mental strain becomes too great to bear. "This mental pressure got me popping pills and s****," "Into it" is this song you would blast in your headphones and dive into this comforting yet scary feeling. "I wouldn't change it for the world; I'm F*cking into it."
I grew up listening to their music and other musicians who take the time to craft unique tunes and insightful lyrics that speak to universal themes. Each band member contributed an extra source of inspiration to each song they wrote, and they openly expressed their emotions via their music. I get excited to hear every word whenever they release a new song. The band's lead singer, Mitchel, even stated in interviews that writing songs like "Uncomfortable" and "Angeline" was his favourite when working with Christian and Clinton, the two other members.
Their song "Angeline" depicts this rebellious girl who wants to go her way, which was probably my favourite. "Please, Angeline, would you listen to me?". Angeline, as portrayed in Mitchel's lyrics, is a crazy girl who follows her desires and makes her own decisions. Since she was a young girl doing drugs and seemed lost, despite everything, though, Angeline remained resilient.
"Ozone" by Chase Atlantic is the perfect song to listen to if you're feeling more heartbroken than rebellious. Chase Atlantic has consistently been the ideal music for whatever phase of life we experience. The story is about two individuals battling for their love; sometimes, we don't recognize the extent of our hurt until much later. The line "I don't get I'll ever get sober" refers to a person who has been using drugs to deal with his breakup and believes he will never be able to get past it.
As Chase Atlantic says, "Keep it up riding the wave." Chase Atlantic is your new best friend whenever you need relatable lyrics and feel different emotions through them.
I hope you'll enjoy listening to them as much as I do.
Happy Three years of "Empty".
